This project focused on redesigning the website for Ginger Garlic, a Nepalese restaurant in Regina, to enhance its user experience, functionality, and visual appeal. By conducting in-depth research and analysis, I was able to create a comprehensive solution tailored to the restaurant’s target audience and business goals.
What I Did
- User Research & Personas
Developed detailed user personas and journey maps, including:- Tech-savvy foodies: Expecting a mobile-friendly, fast reservation system.
- Health-conscious diners: Seeking detailed nutritional information and delivery options.
- Creative professionals: Valuing visual appeal and storytelling in the website design.
- Client Needs Analysis
Assessed the existing website and identified key issues, including poor navigation, lack of visual content, and outdated design. These findings were aligned with the client’s goals of improving usability, showcasing unique offerings, and modernizing the overall look. - Wireframes & Prototyping
Designed low- and high-fidelity wireframes in Figma, focusing on:- Intuitive navigation and clear categorization of services like catering, dine-in, and pickup.
- Enhanced mobile responsiveness for seamless user experience on all devices.
- Content Restructuring
Organized information into distinct sections for menus, catering services, and the restaurant’s story. Highlighted unique dishes and vegetarian options to cater to diverse customer needs.
Outcome
Delivered a redesigned website prototype that:
- Enhanced user navigation with simplified, intuitive layouts.
- Showcased Ginger Garlic’s culinary specialties and cultural storytelling.
- Provided features like interactive menus, nutritional details, and online reservation capabilities.
